Welcome to the St Neots Autograss Club. We are primarily a social club, with a bias
towards Autograss Racing. The club is organised on a totally voluntary basis, with
a lot of members putting in a great deal of their own time and effort to promote
Autograss Racing to a professional standard in this area. The club needs all your
help to survive and flourish and will in turn attempt to satisfy you with a source
of enjoyment and entertainment for all the family.
- In order to continue our success, and to help everyone to work together, we have
had to impose a few rules:
- Drivers are expected to assist in setting up facilities on days preceding race days.
- A free gate pass for the race meeting will be issued to each person who has attended
the pre-meeting track erection.
- A St Neots Club Open race will be held at each race meeting, counting towards a season
long championship. Only St Neots club members who have attended the pre-meeting track
erection are eligible to take part in this race.
- On race days all club members who sign on to race will surrender their licences until
the end of the meeting, when the track and fascilities have been dismantled and packed
away. A fine of £10 will be imposed on drivers who wish to take their licence early,
or collect it at a later date. The clearing up only takes 20 minutes if everyone
helps out.
- All members are expected to participate in the running of the meeting. We are now
compiling rotas for marshalling, startline and other jobs so that we can spread the
workload. This means that you will only be required to do a job for a short while
on race days.
- Consistent failure by any member to contribute to the running of the club and race
days may result in membership being questioned or withdrawn.
ALL ST NEOTS MEMBERS MUST BE SIGNED ON BEFORE 9.30 AM ON RACE DAYS
We are sorry these rules have to be implemented, but they do help with the smooth
running of the club.

MPORTANT NOTICE FOR MEMBERS
The committee has clarified the following arrangements for track erection days:
On SATURDAYS before one-day meetings you MUST be signed on by 3.30 pm to be counted
as having attended the work party, and to be allowed to compete in the St Neots club
open race on the Sunday. The official start time for Saturday work parties is 12.00
noon, but work will normally commence around 10.00 am
On FRIDAY 4 JULY, before the 2-day meeting, you must be signed on by 8.30 pm, although
we hope as many members as possible will be present from 2 pm onwards.
Club Diary 2008
Club meetings are held at the RAF Club, Huntingdon Street, St Neots, starting at
8 pm. All members and their guests are welcome at these meetings to socialise and
have input into the running of the club and the sport of Autograss Racing.
New members needing directions to the venue should contact any committee member.
The committee would welcome any suggestions of social activities that could be added
to the club nights.
The St Neots Autograss Club organises six race meetings each year (usually including
one two-day meeting) on its home track, beside the A1 trunk road at Riverside Farm,
Wyboston, Bedfordshire. This track, which has been the home of the St Neots club
since July 1986, is also the venue for the East Anglian League Open meeting which
in 2008, as in 1996, 1998 and 2003 and 2005, forms a round of the British Autograss
Series. This event was voted the best BAS round of 2005. Wyboston was also the venue
for the 2005 Ladies' and Juniors' National Championships, which was hosted by the
East Anglian League for the third time. The club runs its own season-long points
championships for its members in addition to the East Anglian League Championship,
which usually comprises twelve rounds held at St Neots and its sister club, Cambridge
Autograss Club.
The St Neots club also holds regular social get-togethers at the "RAF Club", Huntingdon
Street, St Neots, to which all existing and prospective future members are welcome.

Bob Robins, the President of St Neots Autograss Club, sadly passed away on Sunday
11 March 2007.
Bob wasn't quite a founder member of the St Neots club - we believe he started racing
in 1972, when the club had already been in existence for a year - but it's fair to
say he had more influence than anyone on the growth of Autograss in East Anglia,
with the Robins family name becoming almost synonymous with the St Neots club. For
many years Bob served as St Neots Chairman, until in 1991 he accepted the title of
President and handed the chair over to his son David. Bob continued to serve the
club well as one of its hardest working members, and carried out the starter's job
right up to the end of the 2006 season.
Bob was a regular Class 2 racer for a long time, and continued racing until well
into his 70s. In recent years he'd been very proud of the progress made by his grandson
Daniel, who took over Bob's time-honoured SN43 number.
He was also a brilliant "old school" mechanic, who solved many a local racer's problems
- and fortunately handed his skills down to David and Michael.
The first Bob Robins Memorial Race meeting was held at Wyboston in July 2007. The
two-day meeting featured, on the Saturday, a unique “retro” race format and raised
a total of £2,000 for charity, divided between the British Heart Foundation and Cancer
Research UK.
St Neots Autograss Club sends its sincere sympathies to Peggy, David, Michael and
all the family.
